Corporate governance
At KYODEN, we place great importance on our relationships with our stakeholders (customers, business partners, employees, local communities, etc.) in order to meet the expectations of society, and we will continue to go forward with our business activities with the aim of always improving relationships and increasing our value to society. To this end, we are working to establish a sound management system by enhancing our internal governance functions through the Board of Directors, Internal Audit Office, Accounting Auditors, and others. In addition, we are working to improve management transparency and accountability by strengthening risk management and compliance. (Convening related committees, identification of key management risks and initiatives to address them)
In addition to pursuing profits, we are working to build relationships of trust with all of our stakeholders based on sound management, recognizing our social role and responsibilities.
- Board of Directors
- The Board of Directors is made up of six directors (as of June 2024) and their term of office is one year.
- Internal Control
- We have established rules for executives and other responsible personnel who are in charge of creating systems that ensure the reliability of financial reporting, the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, compliance with laws and regulations, and the preservation of assets, along with their management systems. The Internal Audit Office is responsible for maintaining and improving these rules and systems.
- Risk Management

We have established a system for managing various internal and external risks related to our business, identified “key management risks” that should be prioritized, and are studying and deciding on countermeasures at the Board of Directors.

Kyoden Co., Ltd. and its affiliated subsidiaries have established a business continuity plan and will promote business continuity management in order to prepare for various risks that could hinder business continuity, including natural disasters such as large-scale earthquakes and floods, the issuance of J-ALERT messages, and accidents such as explosions and fires at each plant and base, as well as to respect human life and respond promptly to customers and stakeholders.- We will give top priority to ensuring the life and limb of our employees and their families.
- We will work to prevent the spread of damage and the occurrence of secondary disasters.
- We will take actions to minimize the impact on our business.
- We will work to ensure the continuity of supply and early recovery to the greatest extent possible, and fulfill our responsibility to supply products.
- We will work in cooperation with local residents and surrounding municipalities to support recovery and reconstruction.
- We will formulate a business continuity plan based on this policy and check the status of its implementation through regular inspections.
- We will provide education and training to employees regarding the business continuity plan.
- Compliance
- In order to fulfill the “KYODEN Corporate Principals of Conduct” and for the sound development of the Company, we have established guidelines based on compliance with relevant laws and regulations and internal rules, as well as corporate ethics.
Through regular internal training and other measures, we promise to ensure that each and every employee acts responsibly with a high level of awareness and consideration for general social norms.

Environmental initiatives

We have our own wastewater treatment facilities. These are used to purify plant wastewater and carry out water quality maintenance management.

A pond has been set up on the premises that uses industrial water purified by a wastewater treatment facility.

Solar panels are installed on plant roofs.
